Here's what it says on Dell:

    *Features update:
    1. Prevent potential risk of BIOS crash during WIN-FLASH:
1.1 Disable USB device during WIN-FLASH.
1.2 It will skip to flash un-used ME block during WIN-FLASH.
    2. Enhanced SMBIOS structure for processor core count.
    3. Enhanced processor thread count for P-state.
    4. Update K0 type CPU micro code from 20655 Rev.1 to 20655 Rev.2
    5. BIOS implemented ATI MADISON sighting to disable PCIE completion time-out(for Arrandale+ M96XT).

    *Issues fix:
    1. system will BSOD show 9F after running S4 stress about 10-300 cycles.

What version do you have now? If you just got it like me you should have the A09 BIOS. If you know how to downgrade please elaborate because I have the A10 BIOS but apparently need to downgrade to the A09 again...

On the dell website, it shows A08 for most recent update. Can I use the A10 for the 1647?

No. The XPS 1645's A10 BIOS is not compatible with the 1647. The installer probably would prevent you from installing it, but if you somehow did install it you would brick your system.

The XPS 1645 is older so it has more BIOS revisions, but the latest 1645 BIOS and the latest 1647 BIOS more or less do the same stuff for each system.
