    5730 only runs at 550mhz max

    i just got my 5730 and i noticed that it only runs at 550mhz max compared to its rated 650mhz. check with furmark running and l4d2 with gpu-z sensors.

    any idea whats up?

    It may be throttled to keep the heat down. Strange though, if it's running at 550mhz, then essentially it's identical to the lesser 5650.

    actually its back now...... this is annoying me.It is so random. Maybe gpu-z is wrong.

    The card will downclock it's self when your not using it OR not gaming/video watching. Check it when your running a game and see what it says.

    I'd agree with you, but he did specify that Futuremark and Left for Dead 2 were running when he saw the lower clock speed.
