I can't seem to get it to use the Nvidia card, everytime it finishes the processor comes up as Intel. HUH?

I've changed the settings to use the card, and I've even made a profile for 3dMark, but can't get it going....it's the same way with furmark too.

    Any help on this?

    It's the new L502x

Not sure what 3DMark version you are using. I personally ran a couple of benchmarks using 3DMark06. It does use the 540M even though it says it detects the integrated card. Did you really think that the integrated card would result in such high scores (~8400 in my case)?

okay, 3dMark 06 said intel, the 3dMark 11 uses the Intel, it's GOTTA use the intel like it says, my frame rates in that one were insanely low.

3Dmark11 is a test very heavy, maybe it used Nvidia too.

What is your score in 3dmark06? That will tell us if it's only using the intel gpu or the GT540M.

I just re-did the test and the score was 8304, and had an average of 28-32 FPS in each of the tests overall.

The CPU test was 2-3 FPS.

Says it was using the Intel Video card.

    8000 = nVidia
    4000 or less = Intel.

Try force it to use Intel graphics and see if the score changes.

screen goes trough intel card even if you use the nvidia.
    Thats whats optimus do.

Ran the output of the Nvidia trough the Intel to the screen.

There is no hard wired connection from nvidia to the screen.

    8304 in 3dmark06 ?????? wouldn't think so.

run the test in default next time and you will get proper scores........... default is 1280x1024 buy the way.

(its quite few mobile cards who actually get +8000 in 3dmark 06 (now im talking non-SLi rigs).
it mostly high-end GTX cards with 256bit memory bus, etc.

The GT 540M scores over 8300 in 3dMark06 when run with default settings. In fact, at least one member has already broken 10K with an oc'd GT540M. You must be thinking about 3dmark11 or 3dmark vantage.

Finally I found a thread about 3dmark 11 and gt 540m with the optimus technology, but it seems like you guys actually started the 3dmark 11 on this?

When I try to start it it says: NO DX11 Support. and that's it. Even when I try to run it through the nVidia GPU it is the same thing. How did you do it?? How did you run 3dMark 11 on a optimus configuration??

Did you update the driver? That seems to fix some issues, but then creates more LOL.

The driver is unavailable at nVidia? How should I update it?

I have an Asus notebook K53SV and I downloaded the latest driver from their website.

I went to nVidia to seek for a more recent driver but it seems that they don't even make a driver for the GT540M ??

Dell has an updated driver. You are posting ib a Dell forum, so I assumed you had a Dell. Its not on the Nvidia site yet.

yes I know, but I assumed that the nVidia GT540m is the same for every model, but it seems that isn't true. Only the manufacturers themselves have drivers available. Looks like nVidia stopped caring about their notebook customers again.. Oh I should have get an ATI.

From what I've been reading Nvidia stopped caring about their notebook users a long time ago. They actually did release a beta version for the GT 540M, but it won't install for me for some reason. I'll wait for the bugs to get ironed out and the actual release before I install it.

Yes, I actaully just tried that beta an hour ago, and it didn't install for me either.
I chose my model and that beta started downloading. Why do they even bother having those drivers on a server when they simply won't install? I just waisted 127MB of bandwidth and contributed to global warming..
