Ok, I ran the 3Dmark06 test and I got 5345 on my SXPS 1640. I have heard of people getting much high. Am I missing something? I have the 4560Ati graphics and the T9550 Cpu. I ran it with it on the High performance power setting. Any help would be nice

    Thanks

antivirus software, bloatware, unoptimized operating system all are going to lower that score alot.

not to mention that you can usually re-run 3dmark 06 right after running it once and get another 300-1000 points. 3dmark is no where near an accurate representation of what you're performance in a real game could be

Try out games like FEAR etc and set them to highest details. That's the best representation ;)

I tried FEAR2 and it sucks lol, even on medium I am lagging a good bit. I reran 3dmark06 a couple of times and the highest score I got was a 5835. I wanted to feel better so I ran my aunt's 1440 and it only got a 780 so I felt better but I hear about people getting into the 6000+ Does your XPS do well in FEAR on high?

Have you checked to see what your battery/power settings are on?

I put my xps on power saver and got a 3dmark of 5600, put it to high performance and got 10444, with my m1730 of course.

Hey guys i recently bought a laptop similar to the gateway FX, its actually a european version called iPower GX by Packard Bell

i ran a 3D Mark 06 @ 1280x800, everything was stock i jus updated the drivers on the nVidia site to 186.81, and got a score of 9718.

    system specs :

    windows vista 32-bit

    P8700 @ 2.53 Ghz
    9800M GTS 1GB
    4 gig ram
    500GB hard drive

i think its a pretty high score for these specs, what do you guys think?...maybe if i OC the cpu and gpu i might be able to break 10 000? thx

That's pretty good. Overclock the CPU and GPU and you should easily break 10,000.

    Doesn't 40,000 seem a little high for a 4890 and an E8400 @ 4Ghz?
