    Hey guys.

On starting up my 2 year old M1730 this morning I get

    "disk error
    press any key to restart"

At the post-bios screen (before windows gets involved).

    (restarting doesn't help)

Any advice? Do I have to get a new hd? If so can someone point me to a suitable one? I think I have two hds in this machine as well... Maybe I should swap them.

Oh... and it's out of warranty.

    Any help much appreciated,
    Ian

Have you tried to check the BIOS to see if the hard drive could be read by BIOS.

You could also do a diagnostics from BIOS to see if they are any errors, such as, bad sectors?

    Good luck.
