i decided to do a long over due fresh install of windows 7 to get rid of the nonessential progs that were there for no reason. However, i have run into a lil snag. Some things are missing from my new baby and i can't figure out where i went wrong.

    1. My touch pad can pinch zoom but use other multitouch functions like 2 finger scrolling
    2. When i adjust the volumn and brightness the indicators no longer show up on screen
    3. The eject media button for my cd drive no longer works

im still in the middle of loading drivers but i think i covered all the bases. I'm looking for any help from anyone that may know of these issues and can help.

Have you installed the synaptics touch pad drivers? I think they are different to the dell touchpad drivers

    Hi there.
If I simply reinstall Windows 7 with the DVD provided with my XPS 1645, and then run the Resource DVD, will I get all the drivers I need?

I know I'll have to get some of the drivers updated by downloading from dell's website, but if I use the Resource DVD, can I still miss something?

I'm considering doing a fresh install, but I'm afraid I might mess something up and lose some features.

What about the dell dock and the camera program, can I find it in the resource dvd?

I did a clean install of Windows 7
No problems, the drivers disk supplied by dell is fine, just update any outdated drivers fom dell website, I think most havent been updated tho,
make sure you update to A07 BIOS.

Also you will have to download and install the Ricoh card reader drivers(under chipset tab). If that one doesnt work, try the one from the XPS 1640 drivers page.
