I would go for it. The size is only like half an inch larger so it will probably be just right or a tad tight ;)

If you are getting a case for 1640, go for a case that's meant for a 17" instead of one meant for 15.4", because 1640 is an inch longer than most 15.4" laptops.

    I think..perhaps you should look at the 17" bags/sleeves for it. :D

Unless you find one specifically *designated* to the 1640!

    Cin ;) :)

I'm signed up via email for offers but I've never received one that good. I would order a 1640 if I got a coupon that good.

Employee Purchase Program...its a discount on Dell products, you usually get thru your School, Employer, Govt/Local affiliation! ;)

The discount is normally 7% (plus any other applicable discounts)!

I qualify for student [7%] and DPA [4%] but the 25% would have been much better... A 25% off coupon for the 1640 would be too perfect, though... lol

No problem! :D It's a great deal most of the time, if you have it!

Yep, I get both too...And,, oh dream, like I am about at 25% coupon!

    Unfortunately, that won't happen for a while ~ since the 1640 is a recent release! :D :(
