Hi all. I have had my 1530 for about 4 months now, and overall it's great, except for one little (actually very annoying) issue. My keyboard response is very iffy. When I'm typing it will randomly miss a few letters/numbers here and there. It's not always the same key and it's pretty frequent. It's not that I'm mistyping either, because I've tested it many times by typing slowly, letter by letter, and it still does it. This is a very annoying problem because I have to constantly backspace (and sometimes that doesn't work). When I was first typing this post it was actually so bad that I had to restart, because it was missing about a third of the keystrokes.

Does anyone have a clue at what is going on or what could be the problem? I would appreciate any feedback and/or solution. Thank you

Try blowing between keys or using compressed air--there might be debris stuck under the keyboard. Failing that, call Dell for a replacement since you're under warranty. Or you can do what I did and buy a black Vostro 1400/1500 keyboard off e-bay and install that. It has a better feel to it and is more precise.

I realize this is a bit late on this thread, but I would like to offer that I have the same problem, and it appears to have at least something to do with the duration of the keystroke.

I am a touch typist, have been since the 9th grade, and if I type very deliberately, the rate of missing keystrokes drops. Also, I believe it has something to do with how quickly consecutive keystokes are attempted. I also know that the keyboard connector is directly under the center of the board, causing it to "flex," and I wonder if a cable could be fraying/breaking

Beyond my computing efforts, I write a column for a small football website and this is a VERY annoying problem. Anyone experiencing similar problems or having a solution would be greatly appreciated
