My 1530 has some video/audio issues going on. Seems to be hanging up whatever application I try to use to play any video even my browser when I try to play a youtube video. Even when I try to slide the volume control it goes to "not responding". Sometimes if I wait long enough it will play but then the audio gets a lot of static.

I checked for virus/spyware and found nothing. I reinstalled the nvidia and audio drivers and it didn't help. For some reason I don't remember I shut off the back-up restore so I don't have any restore points to go back to (kicking myself :mad2:). This problem started after I had the motherboard replaced last week. I ran the Dell diagnostics and found no errors. Tech support said I should reload Vista seeing no errors were found. I would rather not do this if I didn't have to. I would like to pinpoint the problem first. I would certainly appreciate any advice on this matter.

hmmm...seems like when they replace your mobo, did you check the chipset for the audio? it must be different now. but you reinstalled the drivers for audio right? no snags in installing ryt?

Yeah I reinstalled the updated audio driver from the Dell site and the updated nvidia driver from their site. Had no problems at all installing them, but they made no difference. I'm not sure how to check the chipset for the audio. Are there any guides for that anywhere?
