I'm really debating on which laptop to get, since I've heard a fair share of both good/bad reviews from both models. I'm not really a heavy gamer, just a little Counter-Strike 1.6 and WarCraft III.

I was looking for portability with the 1340, but the aspect of full 1080p on the 1640 keeps pulling me back! I'm just worried that the 1640 will be too big for me to be considered "portable" and more of a desktop replacement.

What's stopping me from buying a 1340 is mostly the GPU, since it's nVidia and I really don't like their heating issues.

    Help ):

EDIT: Almost forgot, budget is $2,000 and I'm most likely going to have a SSD.

I had the older 15.4" M1530 and the new 16" 1640 and I cared both of them with no problems its just up to personal taste if you want you could buy the 1640 and return it if you don't like it in the US there is a 21 day return policy and its 7 days in the UK

Just for the record, there's no heating issues with the 1340 GPU. Also, playing those two games won't even come close to running the integrated graphics alone 100%.

As for the portability, I personally think the 1340 already is already a little too heavy, but the size is pretty good.

Thanks for the input guys. Getting the 1640 without the SSD for the sake of my budget.

I'll just wait until SSDs drop to a sane price for the capacity :)

Depends on the rep your talking to.

Some won't care about the fee and others will argue about it for an hour :)
