    Hi there:

    I've got a 1330 with a Seagate Momentum 7200 RPM 200 GB drive.

The drive produces this very irritating clicking sound every once in a while.

Whats going on? Is this normal? I'm afraid i might lose my data, and even though this was not the case, the sound still bugs me...

    any ideas?

I used to get that on my 8600 (Running the stock Toshiba 30gb hdd). It persisted for about a year, off and on, before the hard drive finally died. I'm thankful that I backed up the hard drive prior to the final crash. If I were you, I'd make sure to back things up on a weekly basis.

I think I have the same HDD (ST9250421ASG), that constant clicking sound is really annoying if it's quiet in the room. My classmates even hear it in the lessons. Also the HDD led blinks all the time. Is this all normal? Or do I have to contact Dell for this? I thought the other M1330's hadn't this so extreme.
