I just got this from newegg.com and so far so good, but how do you update the bios to version 1.3? Anyone done this on their XPS before? I do have a USB stick and blank CD/DVD? After I down load the file what am I to do to get this to work. I can't seem to get this to update no matter what I try? The instructions that came with the file is so weird! Can someone give me a good walk through!

I know of one person that also didn't succeed in upgrading the firmware. This was on a M1330, which uses the ICH8-M southbridge (yours uses the ICH8-M E).

The only thing you can try is set SATA operating to AHCI and if that doesn't work to IDE in your BIOS. In order to Boot from USB, you have to include it in the boot search order and have the USB Stick attached very early during the boot process. Otherwise it's not detected.
