    Hey,

I have a L501x with the 1080p screen and I've been having this brightness issue. So everything is normal until i unplug the power and the laptop goes on battery mode and the monitor will dim. Then if I plug the laptop back in, the monitor goes back to full brightness.

Here's the problem: now if my screen has some dark image on it, then i switch to my desktop which is rather bright, i can tell that my desktop is darker than normal, and after a few seconds, it will slowly brighten up to full brightness.

the only way to fix this is to just restart the computer. this happens on both high performance and balanced power modes.

any ideas on why this is happening?

Go to intel HD graphics > power > and set plugged in and on battery to maximum performance.
