Dell tech finally showed up, 2 days later. Anyway, he replaced my ram, but it's still not running as advertised. I think I'll just delve into pictures instead of boring you.

    My bios (A04)

...which is probably not a good idea to advertise, considering these CPU don't support 1333mhz

    What's your RAM frequency?

Anyone else should experience the same - running only at 1066MHz if the CPU doesn't support 1333MHz (bus speed 667MHz). Specification on Dell site does wrong. Look like they just copy & paste the value.

Yeah that's essentially what I was saying; Dell are copypasting info that is theoretically relevant for the i7 selection - and somewhat falsely advertising for i5s.

I'd like to know if the i7's are running at 1333

Sorry, I didn't realize you were asking for i7's. If dell doesn't done anything wrong to the machine, i7 should running with memory at 1333MHz. Take my answer/reply as my opinion only since I do not own similar machine but I do have i7 processor powered notebook. :)

EDIT: JKleiss's reply is more accurate. My reply is based on the picture (specification at Dell website) at the first post. :)

Only i7 CPUs have DDR3-1333 controller. Is normal that your DDR3-1066 memory to work at a speed of 533MHz, also DDR3-1333 memories work at 667MHz.
Take good care and a Happy New Year!

Which program did you use to get these information about the memory?

Arrandale cpus (dual core i3, i5, i7) only run at 1066MHz, this will show as 533MHz as Double Data Rate is 1066MHz

Clarksfield i7 quads will run at 1333MHz
this will show as 667MHz as DDR is 1333MHz
