    How to ""Sort of"" add more Ram to your Chromebook with non upgradable ram

    1. Open up a terminal tab by Pushing CTRL + ALT + T keys.

    2.Type swap enable

    What your effectively doing is dedicating a portion of the fast 16GB Flash memory as extra ram. Think of it as the Chromebook equal to Readyboost in windows (Except that it's more useful)


    It will prompt you to restart before it takes effect...once it does you can open more tabs with no slowdown and the boot/shutdown/overall speed seemed much faster to me.

    If for any reason this produces undesirable results simply repeat the steps above and type Disable in place of enable and reboot the machine once again to disable this.

    I have been using this mode for awhile now though and not a single issue has occurred.
