Google has purchased cloudready. Does this mean we can now download and install full ChromeOS on our old gear?
I have an old HP Elitebook around here somewhere that would be fun to install ChromeOS on and play around with.

I doubt they are going to release the official ChromeOS to be installed on non "chrome" devices.
I hope they didn't buy cloudready just to kill it off. -
Supposedly, they bought it for education useage. Meaning everyone cannot afford a new chromebook for school, so you can load Chrome onto older devices. that's what I read from that.

Interesting that the proposed solution to avoid the undesirable consequences of "progress" will be to disable updates... same solution as Windows, LOL.
