Chromebook Security Questions

I have an acer chromebook bought years ago. I used it mainly to visit websites such as in case it could have malware/viruses... then I would not be concerned. I have also streamed and viewed movies there etc.. thus sites where you could stream from online which is of course not the legit sites. But I did not mind this as if anything happen to my chromebook, I do not have sensitive information there. Thus if I visit sites or download certain things on my windows ten laptop, well i could get malware/virus etc. Thus I do those other things on my chromebook.


Now my questions is this. Again I had the chromebook for a few years already but want to confirm a few things.


1. I created a fake gmail account to log into the chromebook as you need a gmail account to use it. I of course didn't want to use my main gmail account do log in. Now I also have several gmail accounts i created so right before I log in, i have several to choose from.


Now if i click on malware/virus... would i have any or not? I have clicked on many links that probably are dangerous but I didn't think about it because if something happens to it... I know there is an option in chromebook to powerwash so it would wipe and refresh everything. Note... i never done this ever.
Now is there a way to check if i have malware/virus? Or do chromebooks cannot get malware/virus? Example imagine you download a file or movie file etc and it has virus/malware. On windows computer, you can get screwed but what about chromebook?



2. Related to this. Now let say you did download something and had malware/virus. Now... if you use another gmail account to sign in... that did not visit sites where you could click on potential dangerous links... can malware/virus affect other users who log into their different gmail accounts? Example if you had a windows 10 laptop and got malware on it... but say you have 2 log ins or someone else use your laptop as well... if they log into their account but not yours... are they screwed as well?


What if you web browse as a guest? You cannot catch any malware/virus that way? Or if you do... the moment you sign off... its gone?



3. Is there a big concern if I log into my personal gmail account on a chromebook that might have malware/virus? Like if you use chromebook as an entertainment and streaming and clicking links... do i risk security if i decide to log into my personal gmail account? Or its safe if you just sign in as your own gmail account? But not safe if you decide to log into the gmail account that has files where you have potential malware and try to sign into your primary gmail account still under that account? I know im phrasing it confusing but i know most of you understand what im asking.



4. Is there any risk connecting a hard drive or usb to a chromebook if it possibly has malware/virus? If so, how? Also what about if you are logging in as a guest and then connect chromebook/usb stick to it? What about that?


5. Has anyone here had to power wash their chromebook ever? And if so, what was the reason?

 

Thanks. Did not know malwarebytes worked with chromebook. I did a scan and it showed nothing.

So no issue with logging into my primary gmail account or even putting an ssd connected to it then? I mean a primary ssd that i connect it with a thing... forgot whats its called... you put it in this covering that closes it and connect it to the chromebook to access it.
