    Hi guys,

I've had my Z70va for a while now and noticed, as I was trying to copy a 4GB file from a DVD to the hard drive, that the optical drive is running in PIO mode

I changed the settings of the IDE channel to "DMA if available", but it still reports that it's running in PIO. I also updated the chipset drivers from Asus' website, then from Intel directly. Still stuck in PIO-land.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated :D.

    Thanks.

You can try to get into Bios and make sure all the IDE channels are set for "Auto" and not PIO. Also what optical drive do you have? Also did you install all the drivers/software from the included CD-rom? You can also try to uninstall the IDE controllers in the Device Manager and then reboot and have Windows reinstall it.
