z70v/a is also known as the m6 series, check those out..

I'd choose the v6v, it's a hot machine, its cool looking but you have to expect some heta in such a powerful but slim notebook

You need to decide based on how you expect to use the computer and the required features.

The V6 got a fairly thorough review at http://www.tomshardware.com/mobile/20050119/index.html , although the main purpose of the review was evaluation of the Sonoma chipset.

As a W3 owner I can't comment on the strengths of the V6, but some of the factors you should consider are:

Display: Would you prefer normal or widescreen? Would you prefer matt finish or glossy (with higher contrast)? How is your eyesight (the V6 has more, but smaller, pixels).

Modular bay: The modular bay in the W3 enables you to add a second battery, a second HDD, or makes it easier to change the optical drive. The V6 has a built-in slimline HDD which would make upgrade more difficult.

Battery life: I would expect the W3 to give better battery life because of the smaller display. I can get past 4 hours with light usage.

Fan noise: Both units will generate the same heat if they have the same internal hardware. The W3's fan is fairly quiet (the two speeds are 1200 and 1600rpm). I don't know for sure, but I would expect that the V6 may have a lower profile fan running faster to achieve the same airflow, and would be noisier. There was a recent post about fan noise, but I can't remember whether it directly compared these two models.

Durability: Both models are well built, but I would expect the W3's smaller but thicker chassis to be more tolerant of hard handling.

Hope this helps you to reach a logical conclusion,

    John

I would definately go with the W3, but that is because it is the coolest looking laptop I may have ever seen. There is the Z63a which looks like the W3 but does not perform as well. We can ship internationally if you are interested.
