Having owned a UL30vt for about a week I now want another asus product..I loved the UL30vt..I initially bought it because I only planned on surfing the web and watch HD movies and that laptop was perfect for that...I didnt plan on doing any gaming on it but I now want to be able to if I wanted to...and the UL30vt is a little under powered for gaming...so now I considered waiting for the acer 3820tg but after doing some reading i'm a little unsure of acer's build quality and wanted to stick to asus...the UL30jt caught my eye and it works for what I need...something thin and light weight..decent cpu..good battery life and not too expensive...an optical drive is not necessary...I want it to to be as thin and light as possible...but now Im reading the UL30JT is a big disappointment and isn't even that much better than the UL30vt...so now i just dont know what i want anymore...I've been reading about the U35JC the bamboo one...I'm confused about the differences and specs on those notebooks so I'm hoping you guys can chime in...So I want a 13" thin and lightweight notebook with a i7 with the best gpu available...from what I read those UM i7 and i5 dont affer much improvement so I'll just make a jump with a full voltage i7 with switchable graphics because good battery is very important..So if anyone can suggest me a laptop to buy or maybe explain the differences between the U35JC and the bamboo one that would be great...you guys have an idea of what Im looking for so any suggestion would be great...thanks
also what about the U30JC? i looks pretty good but I dont want to buy it if its already been out for a long and is going to be replaced by another one...I don't mind waiting for one to come out I just want to have the newest stuff at least for a couple months

Please remember that 'thin and lightweight' and 'gaming' rarely go well together, especially if you want to play anything recent.

Perhaps it wouldn't be a bad idea to keep your current laptop for a bit longer, to see if you can play the eventual game - afterall, it's not the main reason you decided on your laptop, so I am assuming you just want to play a game here and there for recreational purposes and are not an avid or 'hardcore' gamer.

Afterall, if that were the case, you would have purchased a desktop-replacement laptop, or at least something less.. light.

And last but not least and because you have not done so yet, I would like to direct you towards the following sticky and would strongly suggest you to use it to create a thread, allowing us to help you better:

    Good luck ;)

All of ASUS UL##VT, UL##JT, U##JC have comparable GPUs (310M v 210M) just so you know so you would not much if any gaming improvement going from a UL30VT to a U30JC.

As neenee said, thin and lights cannot physically hold a high end GPU for gaming due to the issue of heat which requires a better heatsink than a thin and light chassis can hold. Personally i think the 310M and 210M are fine for the casual gaming. It sounds like from your wants and decision to buy a new laptop right after getting the UL30VT you have a bit of cash on you. Because if there was a laptop that was everything you want: " a 13" thin and lightweight notebook with a i7 with the best gpu available", it would definitely be more than 3 grand. My closest suggestion is the Sony Vaio Z its expensive but hopefully you can afford it.
