I want a better one, i cant stand how bad the viewing angles are, and how bad it represents colors. I do my graphic design work on the new, large imacs in the lab at school, and when i open the same files on my g71gx, the difference is blaring. If i wanted say a 1900x1200 screen with great color and viewing angles etc, or even a great 1680 or 1440 screen, what would it take and how much would it cost. Is there any place that would be willing to install it for me if i got the necessary pieces?

Couple of ways to go about this, one is to find a repair manual for your notebook that shows you in deail how to disassemble your lcd panel assembly (ie http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=318551)

Take it apart, remove the panel, take hi-res pictures of it and send those pics to an lcd panel replacement company, ask them for some options for replacements. Hopefully they can quote you some major notebooks that use the quoted panels so you can research the quality.

Alternatively, you could call a local ASUS certified repair place and see if they can help you.
