first off, thanks for everyone who helped me with my decision and all my questions...before coming here i had never even heard of asus

after the faq and many questions, i have finally decided on the a8js
now i just need to decide where to buy it from

i have never owned a notebook before...what kind of warranty should i look for?
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
    my main concerns are:
    1. must have bluetooth
    2. great support
    3. best warranty for price
    4. lowest price
    5. must get here before christmas
    6. student discounts?
    7. anything else?

You should read the respective website you are shopping from. They all should have a warranty disclosure. Resellerratings.com will aid you in your search. What notebook are you buying? If it is ensemble then the warranty comes from asus not your dealer. If it is a barebone customized then it is your dealers warranty

If you're not going to travel outside of the country much, and you're in the US, then I would recommend (in no particular order):
    Proportable
    BTOTech/Geared2Play
    GentechPC

I also will recomend you to:
    Proportable
    BTOTech/Geared2Play
I never heard of GentechPC...then again, I am new like you.

"5. must get here before christmas" totally eliminates the G1...

    thanks for the replies

i am buying an a8js with bluetooth

proportable = does not offer bluetooth
gentechpc = does not offer bluetooth

this leaves me 2 mentioned options:
    milestonepc = $1649
    btotech/geared2play = $1578, $1727 with 2gigs of ram

resellerratings only has 3 reviews for milestonepc, while they have 138 for bto/g2p and their rating is higher

the price is also cheaper at bto/g2p
    a couple questions:
    1. milestonepc has factory installed bluetooth, while bto/g2p does not...by adding it, how will this change my warranty?
    2. what is 24 hour turn around?
    3. how will adding 1gig of ram change my warranty? should i do it at bto/g2p, or should i buy off newegg and install it myself?

Id do it myself. its like putting in a nintendo cartrige.

this particular model has a little tricky part for no reason you have to put the 2nd gb in at an angle and then push down.

I think youll be very happy with your a8js. I know I am
