    Hello again.
Ok heres my dilema my laptop is a f3ka with a 1.9 AMD processor, and I was wondering if is posible to change it to a 2.0 I don't belive it would be a great encrease in pwr and that the warranty will be out the window but just for the sake of argument can it be done, and how much would the system improved??? Any body care to elaborate...

It would be a waste of time, effort and money. .1GHz will give you basically no improvement.

No, power consumption won't increase much.
Yes your warranty will be gone.
    Yes it can be done.
    Performance improvement will be negligible.

Don't bother with it unless you're just getting the CPU for free or something.

Don't bother, period. If you get the CPU for free, sell it to someone who has like a 1.6GHz chip. It isn't worth it for you.

I always wondered if the notebook manufacturer could be contacted in cases like this to have them install a purchased CPU for an amount of cash and not have the warranty voided. I presume it’s highly unlikely they would perform such sort of thing, but who knows if I were you and was looking to upgrade CPU I'd call the manufacturer first and ask if they would give it a shot.

It would cost a lot more to do that...definitely not worth it then.

Maybe, but it would definitely cost more to have a severely damaged notebook repaired with a voided warranty.

.1 GHz improvement == almost no real-life improvement. Not worth it. I know this is redundant, but I just want to re-re-reemphasize the point. :)
