What is the processor core used in the nv9500m in asus notebooks.
    eg. 8800M cards are G92, 8600M are G86 etc...

    Let me know.. thanks.. :)

    It's most likely a G84, like the 8600m GT.

It's a G84. In fact, the 9500m GS is the exact same card as the 8600m GT w/ DDR2 but with better power utilization.

That's what I thought. Didn't have any screenshots or links, so I left it at that.

so i suppose it also is affected by the heat problems that afflict the nv8600m machines... there was a news recently that all the G84 chips hav heat manufacturing defects in them.

Not at all. It only affects the previous generation (8 series) GPUs. My 9500m GS runs quite cool - idles at ~60C and max around 81 during gaming.

    No problem :)

I believe so, since they use the exact same GPU. I haven't heard of anyone with the G1Sn complain about heat issues... the overheating horror stories seems to be isolated with only the 8 series GPUs.

    Hi...

    i just got my machine... its a G1Sn (9500GS)
here are my temps on the 173.31

    GPU 69(idle) 89(load)
    CPU 49-53(idle) 75(load)

    also on the 177.70

    GPU 67(idle) 89(load)
    CPU 50(idle) 67-69(load)

Can anyone make any sense of these tempratures... either my machine is not cooling enough... or its just that its a G1Sn. Should i be concerned about these tempratures... ????

Those are much higher than my temps. GPU idles in the low 50's and maxes out at 81-82 with the OC in my sig. CPU idles in the upper 40's and never reaches 60 under load. I haven't played anything more demanding than C&C 3 though.

First thing I'd suggest is to undervolt. A great guide written by flipfire can be found here. This really helped my temperatures.

    what is ur driver version???

is it possible that the different drivers cause different tempratures..???

Also.. is it possible that my temprature reading are wrong?? coz when i feel the entire body of the machine with my hands.. it hardly feels warm.. let alone hot.. just the harddrive feels hot.. though everest shows it to be 47deg

I'm using the 175.80 drivers. My CPU is undervolted which helps and my Zalman makes a difference too. I think the Zalman basically offsets the higher heat output of my OC.

Drivers can most definitely make a difference in temps.

    SmokinOkie...

Have you verified quadro support in software such as maya or solidworks realview?

(old thread, it is possible that user is no longer around)

There is some discussion in recent threads about the Quadro softmod. Check the last few pages of the ASUS forum if you're interested.
