I have the old N550 laptop with the subwoofer. It makes a nice difference in sound quality, not just to base, greater than the sum of its parts kind of thing.

I finally upgraded my monitor to a 1440p model, also got Asus. It has dinky speakers built-in. I looked for a place to plug in that Asus subwoofers. I looked in every nook and cranny. No dice.

I've gone back and forth between monitor sound (central location) vs laptop sound (off to the side but with subwoofer).

Asus, this would've been the perfect integration/compatibility feature and would've added maybe a penny to your cost. Come on now.
