    Hello

I have a doubt with respect to the functioning of the laptops, i have a 2 ghz processor and 512 MB ram, when i open the system properties from the control panel it shows Pentium M 2.00 Ghz
    798 Mhz 512 MB ram

I thought the processor is running in a lesser freq for saving power but wat i noticed is when i copied a 750 Mb file from C Drive to D drive the freq remains the same and comp seems to be slow but when i check the task manager the CPU utilisation is 10 % i dont understand this...please tell me

Also i heard from a frnd that Pentium M 2.00 Ghz is equivalent to 3.6 Pentium IV is this true

In my Z70Va the speakers are having a higher sound if hear mP3 but when i watch DVD or movies the sound is less even if i keep the system vol max. Is thera any software to boost up the speaker vol or nothing can be done to that

Sorry for asking too many questions

Get a program like Notebook Hardware Control or RMClock and it will tell you what speed your CPU is actually running at. Windows can be dumb like that and show you the lowest multiplier.

The processor speed equivalence of Pentium Ms is up for debate, but it's somewhere between 1.5 and 1.8 times its speed in a Pentium 4, so a 2 Ghz Pentium M would be equal to a 3.0-3.6 Ghz Pentium 4, depending on usage.

There are a lot of volume controls that you might not notice. First, there are more volume controls than just the system (main) volume. Raising the "Wave" volume will help significantly if it's not already maxed. Next, your computer has a graphic equalizer built in, and you can max the levels there for a sound boost. Also, you can increase volume in your DVD program (for instance, Windows Media Player also has a graphic equalizer that you can use to increase volume and AsusDVD has an option under Configuration > Audio > Advanced called "Noisy environment" that will increase sound output. Try messing around with these options, and you should be able to get the sound better. As a last resort, you could get a different DVD program. I've got AsusDVD, Windows Media Player, & WinDVD, and of the three of them, WinDVD definitely has the loudest & clearest audio, but it's also the only one I had to pay for outside of the cost of the computer.

    Hope that helps!

the NHC is good it shows the processor running in multiplier of 6x. So when i increase it to 15 the processor is running at 2000 mhz
but the lappy is noisy and heats up more is this usual or is there any profile which steps up the processor as required.....please tell me
