I want to get a hard drive for an asus z70va, preferably the cheapest possible. Don't really care how old/small. What would I look for (search terms etc)

wow that is an oldie. problem is these old ide drives are no longer manufactured and they cost an arm and a leg for a new drive when compared to the current sata drives. you basically need an ide drive. any mobile 2.5" ide drive will work that is 9.5mm thick.

Why not just get a new laptop?

I am assuming the Ide drive will run you in the 100 bucks?

You can get a decent laptop for 600 and it will make a world difference compared to that
