I believe I can setup a dualboot(I've done it on my Sony SZ160p) But is there a way to "hide" the other partition while youre in one mode?
The reason being is programs like system restore or how you install programs or vista indexing would be messed up. If I install a program in XP, and vista edits it, I'm screwed. Or if indexing with Vista, the indexing will be messed up becuase things change when I'm in xp. But if I can hid the two partitions from each other, I wouldn't have this issue. Is that possible?

You could disable indexing for the respective os and partitions, I suppose.

True, but still doesnt correct System restore or installation of programs.

i havent had any problems with xp messing with stuff on my vista partition and vice versa. you shouldn't need to hide partitions. i mean, when i'm on vista, i constantly access things on my xp partition. programs, well, i don't. if i need a program on xp and vista, i install them on both partitions. haven't had any problems with that also.
