    hey
I am having trouble with my speaker in my asus pro55 model laptop
after listening to music for ten mins the speakers go distorted and i no they must not be broken cause when i plug the head phones in they are also distorted which must mean its in the system settings, I have had a look through the control panel and on the asus website. I have windows vista 7 if that helps. Does anyone no how to fix this problem ?

Maybe the cable from the motherboard to the speakers have broken, causing both headphones and normal speakers to both have distorted sounds. Try installing the latest audio drivers.

I'd suspect faulty hardware is at play here, especially if reinstalling the audio drivers can't provide the solution. If that's the case, you'd need to contact Asus for an RMA for a motherboard replacement. However, there is a workaround if you do not wish to RMA. An external USB sound card should be able to bypass the problem.
