    heres a pic : http://img194.imageshack.us/img194/3330/42853390.jpg

my second problem is i got no clue how to update my bios, so if anybody can help me with this i would very apreciate it.

    thx alot in advance.

PS. another problem i encouter (did on vista also) is when i set the procesor to turbo extreme in the direct console, after 10-15 min i get a blue sceen and everything crashes , anybody had the pleasure of this experience also :p?

Did you also install the intel INF chipset driver pack?

The picture you provided shows Base System Device, which to me looks like the INF driver is missing.

I just checked the download site for G50V. It seems ASUS forgot to put the intel chipset driver for Win7 there.
Here is the link for intel INF driver:
    http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?model=INFupdate&os=30&SLanguage=en-us

Note: Intel INF V9.1.1.1019 sometimes refuses to install on PM45 chipset systems. If it happens to you then use V9.1.1.1015.

For updating the bios you can follow the guidelines here:

so i installed that intel inf driver, then i restarted and went 2 bios and used the flashutility to update bios ... it installed without any problems, pc rebooted but windows wouldnt start ... i tried many times 2 fix it but i couldnt... so i formated and reinstalled win 7 ... just to notice that 1 harddrive is missing ... so i got my factory cds and installed vista ... same stuff ... my second harddrive (a 5400rpm hitaschi, cause 1 of the stocks got fried last year) is missing ... bios sees it but windows doesnt ... so what to do now? i really need that drive, got very important material there... im thinking of rolling an older bios (2.10) maby that will do the trick.

    pls help :(

Hitachi Hts542525k9sa00 ... this is the exact version of the HD i got ... i installed bios 2.10 but i still cant see the HD, so i guess its the INF driver? ... i installed the old drivers i had from the factory cds ... but still nothing.

BTW while i was in easyflash i could access the hitachi drive, so its not fried.

    **
installed latest INF driver for vista 64 from asus ... still no change :(((((((.

    Very strange.
I don't think it is due to the INF drivers.

The original problem you had with windows not loading after flashing was maybe due to boot order in the bios changed after flashing.

Maybe you should go to bios and load the factory defualt settings.
Maybe something is messed up in the settings.
I usually load the default settings after flashing bios.

If you have 2.5" external hard disk inclosure maybe you should put your drive inside it and try to read data out if you can read it.
I hope in all this confusion you have not delete the partitions on your secandory drive. :(

I think your notebook has a raid controller in it.
Maybe the default sata setting has changed after you flashed bios.
Maybe that was the reason why windows did not load the first time after you flashed bios.

Check in the bios that the correct SATA setting is done.
If you were not using RAID before than the SATA setting in the bios should at Enhanced mode.

Look here for details about doing SATA setting in bios:
