Just purchased ASUS F3T. It came with windows vista pre-installed. on the machine there is a licence key for windows. i presume it's for windows vista? now i want to install windows xp pro on my computer. can i do that from recovery CD? and does this licence key also fits for Windows XP Pro or is ment only for Vista?

    thanks

The key is only for the Vista version that you have. IE Premium 32bit, Ultimate etc. I don't think your recovery CD has XP on it, it most likely has the OS that came on the computer when you got it from the mfr, Vista based on your question.

You cannot install XP from a Vista install disc...and the key won't work either. You'll have to pick up a new copy of XP through a retailer like NewEgg or whatnot.

Try pressing F2 when booting up during the ASUS screen.
