I am having trouble identifying a process that auto-starts on my new W7J. It is c:\windows\ablksr\ablksr.exe

I've googled it and can't find any information. Anybody know what this is?

Looking at the dll files in the same folder, it looks like software by Asus used by power4gear. It isn't running in my system, so it's likely some setting in your power management which requires this at startup with your system

I'd have to agree with Chemistry. I disabled that file when I was tweaking my laptop and I think it removed the ability to see the screen icons when using Fkeys of P4G button. I'm gonna say I'm 90% sure of this cause I disabled so many things for max performance and had to re-enable some of them for the neat features they provided. Seeing the volume slider on screen was a biggy for me.

i just got my asus laptop and it seems almost essential that you run some of the processors that came with the computer, because as soon as i got it, i disabled most of them and found my self unable to connect to the internet....so i am wondering what exactly must i keep on, as this mrnin i kind of got sick of all the 80 sumthing processors running and decided to dosome tweaking here and there

    thanx for any help
