Can anyone point me in the right direction here?

My a8jp arrived from newegg recently. The computer is great, except for the noticeable grain on the screen. From what I've read, this is an issue with x1600-based GPUs, but I've only found fixes for non-a8 models.

I wish I could ignore this issue but it is bugging me. Is there any known fix?

You can try updating your BIOS because most of the fixes for the graininess issue for the other laptops are solved by updating the BIOS. Also you could try contacting ASUS.

I am using the latest bios. I was just wondering if anyone had discovered a fix.

Have you tried and non-OEM graphics drivers? I would search around for a modded .inf and install a different video driver and see if the issue still persists.

Just to be sure, is this graininess which is pixelization of certain mostly darker colors or sparkliness which is a hazy coating on light colors?

Now that you mention it, I would say it is a sparkle rather than a graininess.
