Arggg, i really cant decide myself on which of these 2 laptop i want.
I really really like the 512mb DEDICATED!! nvidia 7600 on a8jm but like the z96js 15inch screen and its pretty low weight tents me also.

hmmm, in the frist palce i was looking for a laptop of 14 inches because it consumes less battery and its lower weight cause ill be using it to travel.... but now that the 15inches z96js is only .25lbs more and has almost the same battery life, i really dont know what to do, help meee....

which one of these laptops will you choose at my place?? I am really dont know about resolution and stuff but i know that i want to enjoy my video games, so the low resolutoion on the a8jm will it really affect my games experience :S:S

I am from canada btw, and i am looking to buy one of these laptops (canadian seller only) from ebay.

    http://cgi.ebay.ca/ASUS-NOTEBOOK-A8...yZ114205QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem (a8jm)

    http://cgi.ebay.ca/BRAND-NEW-ASUS-Z...701343QQihZ016QQcategoryZ114205QQcmdZViewItem (z96js higher price)

    http://cgi.ebay.ca/BRAND-NEW-ASUS-Z...694975QQihZ016QQcategoryZ114205QQcmdZViewItem (Z96JS lower price)

i still need to get around 50$us to buy the a8jm... the only laptop here i can buy is the z96js, just to gave you an idea of my very limited budget lol

    so what u thinkkkkkk!!!!

The only thing that the a8j has on the z96j is a dvi port and size. if you dont mind a higher res screen and you understand the size then the z96j is better in terms of cost to parts ratio. Now you also have to keep in mind that the z96j has a dealer warranty. That means you should do research on your dealer where the a8j has an asus warranty which means no research required. Some dealer will leave you to warranty it your self. Meaning you will have to call asus and they will tell you to take out the parts and ship it back.

Well, I wouldn't worry about one being "higher res", because the size of the pixels are going to be awfully similiar between a 14" WXGA+ and a 15.4" WSXGA+.

However, before you make this all about money and tell us how you can't decide..... the difference between a 14 and 15.4" in terms of the screen size should be enough to sway you one way or another... whether it just be the screen size, or the foot print of the overall system, or even the weight. In my opinion, this year's Z series is about on part with that of the A8 series in terms of being of the same middle of the road build quality...... both are high performance, but even leaving that to the wayside, even if you say you don't care about the difference in screen sizes, that really should be something you consider because it'll be THE biggest "feature" if you will, that you'll see and use every time you touch the system. So think about that.

I must have missed the part where the a8j has a wxga+ resolution. The one i just shipped as open box had a wxga resolution

i have w3j... and the low resolution is something to consider.. however, when i went to buy my w3j... i also looked at the z96j... and man was it ugly.. no offence to other z96j owners but it was comparable to a dell-look. if you dont bring it to school often and leave it at home.. i definatlely get the z96j.. the resolution is nice... but if you gonna carry it around.. i would get a8jm.. just my oppinion.

I don't understand why people are placing so much emphasis on looks. A nice laptop isn't going to make an ugly guy look better. Besides, the Z96 doesn't look bad at all.

I'd get the A8J because of its smaller size. The difference between my laptop and the 15.4" laptops of my friends is pretty big. Mine feels nimbler and more refined.
