    Hey Guys,

For the life of me I can't figure out how to get the Intel Proset app to turn the wireless adaptor back on after waking up. It's a bit annoying to have to turn it on manually. Any pointers?

That never happens to me. Mine starts up right away. Where did you get your driver? I didnt have a problem with the one that came with the unit. I also downloaded the latest from support.asus.com and still never got a problem after wake up from a standby, sleep, or a multi log-on.

I'm using the driver/software included with the laptop - Intel ProSet/Wireless Software 9.0.1.0.

Same with you guys? Guess I'll try reinstalling.

    I'm sorry, it's actually 9.0.1.9. That's the latest on Asus's site.

Reinstalled everything. Problem persists. Nothing in BIOS maybe related to how the wakeup is handled?

Do you have a program called "Wireless Console" running (a green 'e' in the task bar)? I didn't. So remove that and you'll get the desired behavior. Didn't look to see if that's something I overlooked in my drivers package that came with the machine, but it was there on Asus' site.

Asus seems to be really bad about explaining these utilities they have on the setup disk and for download. I have my wireless not waking up UNLESS I install the wireless console, but I really have no idea what the wireless console is for. I figure there ought to be settings for this in Intel PROSet, but I can't seem to find them. The "power" settings within PROSet don't say anything about waking up from standby.

FYI, another thread says the Wireless Console app exists solely to wake up wireless and/or bluetooth after standby. Again, it'd be nice if Asus published a smidgen of documentation with this app.

sorry for resurecting this... just had a few questions.... what was the conclusion? Do you need to have the asus program to resume from standby or will the Intel software be ok? Or what do you have to do to have wireless resume on standby?

I had the same problem after I turned off the Wireless Console software, then it went away once I re-enabled it.

Yes it appears that the Wireless Console is the key. I am using the latest version I could find: V1.09.

I had this "walkaway wireless" problem with my new Z70V. The Wireless Console was not installed. I downloaded and installed Wireless Console V1.09 from http://support.asus.com. I selected "Console" from the context menu on the green "E" in the System Tray and selected both checkboxes:

    _x_ Wireless LAN

_x_ Display dialog box when switch (ON)

Now the wireless is turned on after a resume from Hibernate or Stand By.
