    So ... :asus:
I stopped my choice on the Z63A, after going for the W3V. Z63a (his little brother card and the black finish) is without the dedicated graph. But i found playing games on a laptop is utopic anyway. Most of them with dedicated graph card have 1200 res and more.. too high for ATI X600/700. Except if your interpolate down to 1024.. but it makes the picture blurry!!

I also found i don't play a lot of games on my desktop system anyway, so why would I do it on my lap. Well, FEAR would be tempting, but it's just unplayable without a 6800GO, which is very rare in laptop less that 9lbs!!

    * I would like to know if it will be possible for my to add a graph card later, since the Z63A have the PCI-E carbus.
    * I would like to add a Pionner DVR-K15 DVRW slot-in drive. How can I know if it's compatible?
    * What about the SATA interface? I heard SATA drives for laptop are not out... well, help me there, i'm confused!

Anyone have this baby (Z63A) and would like to help me on this ? Thanks in advance guys!!

No - Plain and simple... you could order a W3v motherbaord and use it in your notebook, but that's sort of stupid

No - Physically, Yes... logically, no. It'll work, but you're talking about modding the faceplate from the z63a drive to work with the pioneer...... if you can cut a stright slot, that would be about the hardest part.

No - They are out, but don't work with this notebook.

Thanks for asnwering so quickly!! I guess I would be stuck with the higly priced Asus optical bay.

Apart of this, I've just seen that the Z63a with the battery and optical drive does weight 5.5 lbs, and not 4.8 lbs as I first though. 5.5 lbs is exactly the same as the HP/COMPAQ DV1000. I was a bit hesitating between those 2 models at first, 4.8 lbs for the Asus was cutting it.

Now i'm still confused... any argument why I should chose one above another ?

.... yeah, well it's weighed 5.5 pounds for the last 6 months. 4.8 pounds is impossible in the US. That's minus the optical drive (because it has a blank drawer as well) and with a 4 cell battery that the US doesn't sell...... about 5.1-5.2 is the weight without the optical drive if you're not going to use it much.

..... If you're still between HP and Asus --- you're still looking only looking at the computer from a spec to spec point of view....... If you know the quality of Asus' motherboards and take the design and possible configurations you can get into account, you won't be looking at the hp very long. But it's going to be the z63a's closest contender.

Well, Hp doesn't scare me anymore. They improved their product a lot last 2 years, especially the notebooks. In the end, I think I would take the greatest performer in term of battery life between DV1000 and Z63A. But it's hard to find a fair test to compare them.
