Quick question - will it use two 4gb ddr3 sticks and use them at the full speed?

Just load that sucker up with an 8GB kit. 8GB DDR2 kits are getting pretty cheap lately.

Thanks for the information, all. I will probably end up doing that. Could you tell me exactly which ram I need or any good deals you've seen (I don't mind monitoring slickdeals and checking what I can get on bing if you don't know of any offhand)? What about just buying a 4gb stick and running at 6gb for a while? Or do they cut a much better deal if you buy an 8gb kit?

Cool. I'll probably wait. If it took ddr3, I was going to wait for those prices to come down and get 8gb so there's no rush. Thanks for the help, rise ;)

Sure, no problem. I'd say just use 4GB for now. You can find 4GB kits for dirt cheap at every store.

There are no/little performance difference between DDR2 and DDR3 laptop memory as of now. The high latencies on the DDR3 prevent it to surpass DDR2 speeds. I wouldn't worry about it if your concern is performance related.
