I'm planing to buy a new 3D TV on which I want to watch 3D movies from my Asus N56 Notebook.
Obviously, to display picture in 3D you need HDMI 1.4 as well HDMI 1.4 cable. Problem is I can't find which version is N56 using.? I looked at Asus, nVidia, Intel website but they all just list HDMI, no version.

    Any help?
    Thanks!

    Version 1.4 if I recall correctly. Whether it's 1.4a or 1.4b I can't remember though.

If it's 48Hz 3d (just for blurays) then any HDMI version should be fine, just see if the 3d software installs with your driver package to see if your notebook supports it.

You don't need a 1.4 HDMI cable they don't really even exist other than in the mind of the sellers and marketers. Any HDMI cable will likely work. Any Category 2 certified is guaranteed to work. I am assuming no "Ethernet" involved?

Save some money and don't support dishonest business practice, do not buy a 1.4 HDMI cable, any high speed HDMI cable will work fine and even most of the rest will also.

If you are wanting to have a cable over 33' then 1.4 HDMI alone won't even resolve.

Correct. My 3D Blu-Ray player, Bose system and 3D TV all using my existing old HDMI cable without any problem.

On my Bose system wasn't even support 3D at the time when I bought it so I can't hook up my 3D Blu-Ray player, however, after a firmware update from Bose it now supports 3D, no new port or cable is needed.

Yes the wonder of digital cables ^-^ but like I said for 48hz 3d there is not an issue since it's lower bandwidth than 60hz 1080p.

Not a problem, good luck watching your movies, active 3d is so much better than the cinema passive IMO.
