(oops - I looked up M7V and it's the motherboard, not the laptop model itself, which I thought it was when I started this post - sorry for the weird title) I bought two Asus laptops in one week. Mine is a G1. The one I bought for my family is an M7V - well the motherboard is an M7V, I guess.
I'm having an issue with the keypad-turnoff button. We've hooked a mouse to it and want the keypad off. However, when we toggle the button, nothing happens.
Is there a tweak, maybe a registry tweak, I can do to turn off the keypad? Thanks.

A M7V is an ASUS Z71V. You can download the ATK0100 drivers for the button configuration (wireless, e-mail, browser, touchpad, power4gear) from the ASUS support website alongside all its drivers.
I'm assuming you mean touchpad when you say keypad because I (personally don't know? there's probably a way to do it) don't think there is a way of turning off the keyboard without disabling it in windows hardware.
Hope this helps. -
M7V = Z71V, and it's sold under some other different names as well (ABS Mayhem G4, for instance). If you just got the computer, I'd recommend updating to the latest Synaptics touchpad drivers from here
What is an M7V?
