I was looking at IBM but am taking a second look at my options. Concerning warrenty service. What language do the service techs speak when they go home from work?

I guess I am tired of trying to speak to India tech support (Dell) and was looking around to see what brands use techs who can comunicate in what I consider american english. So what country does ASUS use for their techs.

To work for Asus you need to be able to fluently speak Chinese.... so you can imagine 95% of them are Asian's. However, their US office is pretty good. If you're in the US, that's who you'd be dealing with. If anything you've got a mixure of English with an Asian and Northern Californian accent.

I am in Indiana. So if In USA you call CA? Sounds Good. I had a Problem with Dell because they were not vey knowledgable on my unique problem and I seemed to have line problems conecting to India.

    Also, any discounts for nonprofits?

I'd say it's going to be increasingly unlikely/difficult to find "american english" speaking service techs at any of the large technology companies. However, if you buy a built on Asus laptop from a dealer - you should be able to deal with them throughout your warranty period.

I speak fluent english as well as russian and undersdand spanish with a limited vocabulary. It all depends who you call for support. Asus has their support. If you call your dealer for the most part you will get someone intimately familiar with the product. Cant speak for all the dealers for asus but the ones you find forums probably got a decade of experience and actually know the product unlike the script readers for dell.
