Just bought Asus's M50VM B1 from New Egg. I love it, but I hate Vista. If I installed XP Pro would Asus's drivers still be able to install and work properly?

Thanks to both of you. How common is this, to install xp on a laptop made for vista? Is it worth it? Does the laptop run more powerfully as result? Will it be buggy?

I heard its somewhat unstable, but dont really know the details.

At least I know the media touchpad wont work, and the buttons near the Altec Lansing logo wont work as well. (I think)

All the buttons should work provided the uptodate drivers for XP exist and are correctly installed. Again, if everything is installed correctly, there should be no bugs.

As to whether it's more powerful... that is a matter of opinion.

XP installations on Vista laptops are a very common phenomenon. And one which Microsoft dreads...

I decided against installing XP. I am happy with Vista. Thanks for your help though!
