    Hey all,

Planning to buy W5A for my wife and just curious about 3 things.

    1. The RAM is limited to 768MB according to Asus, but what if I get a 1GB stick RAM popped into the machine? Would this work?? Sonoma platform should recognize 4GB of RAM (realistically 2GB since the largest cap. is 1GB per stick). So total of 1.256 RAM possible??

    Or

I can open the bottom cover and remove the 256MB ram and install a 512MB stick, is this possible??

    2. How long does the battery lasts realistically?? Cnet review says that W5A has poor battery life. Is this true?? From what I experienced, the batt lasted about 3:30 hrs.

    3. Where can I get a black one in the US?? Does it cost more $$ to get a black one??

    Thanks in advance

    1. there is only one one slot and 256mb onboard..... you can use a 1gb stick and get 1.25gb in a W5..... tested for months on end.

    2. 25-30 minutes per cell...... 6 cell battery..... do the math.. it's on par with all of the other systems.. it just has a smaller battery.

    3. We have some black ones... same price for now.

    Thanks,
    Justin
