    Hi,

In order to make up the maximum 2Gb of Ram in the W3V, would i need to purchase 2x 1Gb sticks or could i use 4x 512Mb sticks?

    Thanks

Only two slots on most all notebooks anymore.

    Thanks,

    Thanks for the replies,

In Australia the W3V only comes with DDR2 400 RAM.

Would it be possible for me to buy DDR 2 533 RAM and use it with the w3v. I want at least 1 Gb of 533 RAM...

    Thanks.

shouldn't be a problem at all...... the chipset can handle it and I'm sure if the bios is different you could grab the lastest bios from the US site. DDR2 533 really just became available to Asus in large quantities a few weeks ago.

    Thanks,
    Justin

    Hey people,
Just wondering if this OCZ ram would be compatible with the W3V?

    Heres the link

    Thanks

Yup, that should work fine. However, I don't think it's being sold in high quantity since I don't see them in many online retailers.

Maybe that's why it isn't sold in high quantity. I didn't even notice it was a 240 pin, it probably won't work then. LOL

The picture at the link shows a standard SODIMM. Maybe the 240 pins is a typing error. Try sending an email question to ocztechnology.
