From what I've been reading, the W3V typically ships with a 100GB 4200RMP HDD. Does anyone who has used this find it slow (esp. if you're gaming)? That currently, seems to me to be the one disappointing factor about this computer.

Asus switched to the 4200rpm 100gb models to get rid of the current models (as it is near the end of the model year). If you're a hardcore user, which is what I would expect, I'd swap that out for a 5400 or 7200rpm drive. Believe it or not though, their switch to 4200rpm drives have increased sales..... mainly because Asus wanted to get out and reach people who didn't already have a system like this and targeted those who would be going to best buy and comparing what they see as a "100gb drive (4200rpm)" vs the "60gb (5400rpm)" that the W3 had..... It's basically just to get rid of stock and if you've waited till now to look at them, the best thing to do would be just swap the drive and use the stock one for external storage or in a 2nd hard drive kit.

I probably will. Although one of my friends pointed out to me tonight that a slower hdd will improve battery life (which is more important to me than being able to play games, since my laptop is not my primary computer). But that's a ****ty reason to change the harddrive, especially since Best Buy and other mainstream stores don't even sell Asus computers yet.
