Hi, I've notice that there are 2 models for the W3J here in Canada, the W3J-H0026 and the W3J-H037P. Aside from the cpu (T2500 vs T5500), are there other differences between the 2 models ? I'm asking because I saw a 400$ difference in the pricing of these 2 models.

The only possible differences are CPU/HDD/RAM and the date of the release.
P.S. : W3J has reach the EOL (End of line) and is no longer produced, also the Santa Rosa laptops are round the corner. So you might want to reconsider your options.

They still sell them at MilestonePC but they have a 400$ difference with same HDD, RAM and BT 2.0 so I was wondering ... Maybe the OS is XP and the other is Vista ?

Perhaps best to PM MilestonePC and ask them directly. Doubt that they went and installed XP onto their remaining stock of W3's, however.

I think I got a really old version of the W3J.

My CPU is only a T2300, which is 1.66Ghz

I dont think Ive seen anyone here in NBR who has the same W3J as me. Everyones has a faster CPU... 1.83Ghz i think.

Does anyone know how old the T2300 in W3J is?
I got my laptop last year around September, for about 1287.04 USD. How much did u guys pay and when did u buy urs?

Sorry if Im sorta hijacking, but i think this may also interest you.

Well, mine also has T2300 (and it originally came with 512MB RAM )
I think it mostly depends on the location and ASUS's marketing.

This was the initial CoreDuo update to the W3 line, released 5/06. The 1.83 was a refresh in July. Most of the W3j owners have moved on from NBR to their daily lives; the same thing happens with every new major model release.

I purchased the H0026 about a month ago.I think the only
difference is the cpu.Upgraded the hd to 7200 rpm,cpu to t7600
and the ram to 2gb.Great notebook. You can still purchase
the h0026 in canada for under 1600.

yea I got mine in Taiwan, home of Asus.

they said they'd give me an upgrade to a 1G stick of ram instead of two 512mb's.

Also they had a promotion thing going on, where they throw in an additional 100G HD for any W3J purchases, which came with the framework thing to fit into the optical bay. It sucked a little to later find out its only a 4200rpm tho.

Anyway I think the whole W3J hype has died down a long long time ago... I am now in love with the V2Je.
