Ok, I was trying to connect to my cell phone through Bluetooth, and decided to update to the most recent stack on Asus' download page. When I tried to install the new stack it kept prompting me to turn on the bluetooth device. I used the wireless console and the bt button and although it said it was on the prompt kept coming of evrys 30sec or so. There is nothing to do with bt in the device manager, there is however a yellow exclamation icon for "USB device" under other devices. I have tried uninstalling the newest stack and using the software that came with the notebook, as well as removing the wireless console, and manually installing the drivers but nothing seems to be working. Any ideas?
Solution:
Ended up using the newest Toshiba stack from toshiba's website, not the newest ones from ASUS support. I had to remove the "USB Device" and scan for hardware changes during the install for it to work though.

Some cells arn't compatible with the Toshiba stack. Try installing a WIDCOMM bluetooth stack instead.

I just went through this process - the newest Toshiba drivers are compatible. The only thing I can think to do is to hit the bluetooth button on the right of the keyboard when prompted. You can be sure it's on when you see the blue LED on the top left of the keyboard. Uninstalling the old driver/stack automatically turns it off which may explain your confusion.

I've tried the side button, and even though the light is on is still asks me to power on the bt device. I know its software related as it only stopped working when I tried to upgrade to the newest toshiba stack (needed some of the features in the new version)
