    Hi,

Super brief post so apologies for not going into much detail here...

Anyone know any answers to the following questions:

How soon will we see F3JM drivers for Vista?

Will we see F3JM drivers for Vista?

I just bought an F3JM and Vista RC1 looks MUCH better on it (than XP) (thanks to the better high res support for desktop icons and text and such like).

Installed Vista RC1 on my F3JM today and it seems to install most devices however a number are not working properly - eg the camera (device driver seems to be installed but when you go to use the camera it just hangs - no picture) and audio (same issue but just no sound) and the wireless control on/off button at the very front of the unit doesn't enable/disable wireless. Also is a few devices that drivers couldn't be found for in Device Manager. Added the Go 7600 driver manually no problems. Before I spend ages reinventing the wheel I was wondering if anyone has gone to the trouble of finding/getting drivers for the above devices plus everything else on the F3JM working with Vista...

I would really like to move to Vista RC1 over Windows XP Pro right now because of the above mentioned better text support etc (Vista's 120 dpi text looks MUCH better on my WSXGA screen than XP) - I am running both (dual boot)...

Hi Lee I thought you were buying an A8Js or something in the A8J series?

I was but for numerous reasons (mainly the lack of availability of the specs I wanted in the A8Jp and the fact that the A8Js isn't available yet - and that I was getting impatient) I ended up with the F3Jm.

I'm really happy with it. It's only slightly bigger than the A8J's- feels the same weight to my mind and has a WSXGA (15.4 inch) screen which means small OS text but in Vista that is not a problem and the screen size really shines for so much. Also its the Core 2 Duo 2Ghz with 4MB cache (T7200) and the CTRL key is in the correct place (a big deal for me in the end - I use it alot!). For me it's super portable - not heavy or cumbersome at all.

So far my only gripe with it is that it only came with a 120GB 5400 RPM drive. In time I will buy a new 7200. Either that or a 200GB 5400RPM drive if they exist :) . Depending on how much I find/if I find the HD speed is holding me back at all would prefer size over speed. :)

I was really set on the A8Js and I still love that - and the A8Jp - to be honest I love all laptops/notebooks now! This is my first ever notebook. I have bought 2 for my wife and supported/configured/setup/reghosted countless others (Dell's, HP's, Compaq's, Toshiba's) in my work but i have always had desktops. So I am loving the freedom I get with this F3JM - it's awesome! I was skyping with my sister in Holland with it 2 days ago and showed her round the entire house! Awesome.

In all honesty I would be happy with either the A8Js or this F3Jm. They are both awesome machines.

I have F3JA I htink sound card is same : realtek High defination audio , is it ?

If yes it is easy to do for sound , i passed 2 hours but finlay was able to make them work on mine.

Go to device manager, under sound, video... you will see 2 materiel, Uninstall there driver and delte them. Reboot , if it detect say no you dont want to isntall, check in device manager if has not added again automaticaly, if it there isnt any material it is good :) Go to www.realtek.com.tw download the Vista beta driver for High defination audio, Go to the folder where it is downloaded, Right click on it and then Run as Admin (make sure you are loged in with and admin account, also i advise you to disable the User account protection UCP) If the installation went well, it will ask you to reboot and her eyou go now you will have the sound :)
