I have it on mine (not Asus) and it looks and feels pretty good. Still has some bugs though. For example, after installing the ATI drivers the control panel for changing monitor settings pops up every time I log into the computer. I do say that it gets a 10/10 for looks though.

No, but I will probably upgrade sometime around June next year.

I'll need to get E6400 or E6700, another gig of RAM, and faster 7.2k HDD, before I get Vista Premium Upgrade.

Hopefully they come out with a Mobile Vista. It sounds like the regular Vista is going to suck much more battery then XP. I mostly think this because of the Aero Glass visualization uses up the GPU. Anybody have input?

How do you get the aero glass to get working? nevermind - it's working. I just don't know why the windows are flat on my screen wheras most screenshots on the net show the windows angled into the screen.

Vista is up and running on my W7J (i have a second HD that flip in and out). No issues, except for lack of drivers. That being said, I'm having the same trouble as Bruce Banner with Areo Glass. It doesn't seem to be working; although it could be an issue with my 7400go not having a proper driver.

Overall, I'm not really impressed. It seems very much like XP, with a few new features. I'll have to wait for a final releace, but I don't see myself spending $200+ for Vista.

I have it running on a second partition on my S96j and it runs great. Much better than Beta 2.

Agreed. All show and no go. Take a look at the system resources being used when you're in Vista and suddenly you're thinking "I need to get a new computer." I don't think that it will bring me to a new computing level but I do think that it will increase the bottom line of the computer industry.

As for Aero Glass, I was taking a look through the explanations in the help section and it looks like you can have some of the features of aero glass without having them all. For example, my windows have clear tops and the previews show up when I hover the cursor over the taskbar, yet I can't get the 3D effect with when I cascade the windows. Wierd. I must be missing something.
