    Hi all,

I seem to be having some issues playing dvd's on my relatively new V6Va. Basically, none of my burned movies will play at all and few store bought movies will even play. I've had to load and eject "The Office" about eight times before it would start playing.

I've installed both asusdvd and nero suite that came with the computer. When I insert a dvd it sounds like it's trying to load and trying to spin but sort of powers itself down. Can't tell really what's going on. Any remedy to this?

    Thanks in advance,

    Mizrachi

I have v6va and have no problems with DVD playback. I can't really help with your situation but would suggest returning in for repair or refund/replacement.

Perhaps update your video codecs, that may be a factor.

Would the codecs have anything to do with the DVD simply not loading? It sounds as if the drive is trying to load a disc but is unable to do so.

What type of media are you using + or – and does your V6Va support both those I’m to lazy to look it up. :p
My guess is it might be a issue with the media you are using try another brand I know with my desktop DVD burners drives there are regular firmware updates to improve media support.

Try a different player like VLC.

The matshita drives are a hit and miss. Give asus a buzz and they will change the drive illico presto
