OK, I'm now seriously considering a V6Va. But have read in a few posts that the touch pad response is bad. The reviewers then usually followup with "you could probably tweak the settings but I prefer just to use a mouse"...

My question is have any V6Va owners here played around with the settings and can vouch for saying "it's great once the settings have been tweaked" -?

I thought I heard synaptics made the touchpad so I would think it should be more than acceptable...

Help me out guys, I hope to get some good news or big bad Dell's XPS M170 will lure another hapless fly into its "ooh look at all the shiny lights" web of seduction... ;)

Synaptics, who make 80% of all touchpads, have really good drivers.

Mines is nowhere near crap, but If I had a mouse, why use the touchpad :)

Thanks.. Heh.. well a typical scenario for me is: Ebay auction ends at 5am... set alarm.

Wake up all groggy pull lappy into bed and place winning bid :)

A mouse at that time wouldn't be convenient.

Actually I do a lot of my computing in the living room in my lap, kitchen table, etc. So I don't use a mouse much of the time.. My touchpad finger has gotten quite dexterous. ;)

You can tweak the touchpad on the v6va to make it decent but not great. Setting everything to max sensitivity and setting the palm guard option to basically off. will make the pad pretty usable. But not as good as alot of models out there.

i actually love the keypad. i find the button to have a very nice and light click to it. the pad itself is very sensitive and i like it. but again..mouse > keypad unless there is no mouse etc..

there is nothing wrong with it.
